An investigation is under way after the bodies of two women were found in a house in Cheshire.
The women, believed to be Rachel Clayton, 34, and Emma Speed, 30, were found when ambulance crews were called to a residential address in Macclesfield at about 8.20pm on Sunday.
It is thought the alarm was raised by a friend and paramedics subsequently notified Cheshire police.
Fire service and gas engineers, who attended the property shortly afterwards to check for a leak, said tests proved negative.
Postmortem examinations were due to take place to establish the cause of the deaths, but detectives confirmed they were not looking for anyone in connection with the incident.
A spokeswoman said: "Cheshire police is currently investigating the deaths of two women at a house in Macclesfield … Formal identification has not yet taken place.
"The deaths are being treated as unexplained but at this stage there is not believed to be any third-party involvement. Inquiries are ongoing."
