Man killed in Luton shooting

Ebc Report,Luton:::
Police are investigating in Brunel Road, Luton, where they believe the man was fatally injured
A man has died following a shooting in Luton on Tuesday.
The victim, believed to be 46 years old, was driven by friends to Luton and Dunstable Hospital with gunshot injuries but died shortly after arriving, police said.
Officers were called to the accident and emergency department just after midnight on Wednesday.
Police believe the man was injured during an incident outside a house in Brunel Road in the town.
The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit want to trace anyone who saw a white transit-style van seen speeding from the Brunel Road area.
A silver BMW and a silver Vauxhall Corsa were also found abandoned near the hospital, both of which have been recovered for further examination.
Det Sup Jeff Hill said he "would not be drawn into speculating" on why the man was shot but believed the key to finding out what happened and why could be found "within the community".
He said: "We will not tolerate gun crime and officers will not leave any stone unturned in the pursuit of those responsible for this man's death."
He urged anyone with any information that may help the murder inquiry to contact police.
